Russell Stout is Vice President and Branch Manager of the Austin area for Highlands Residential Mortgage. He is a graduate of the University of Texas and is proud to call Austin home. Russell has worked in the Real Estate and Mortgage business for over 20 years. As a University of Texas Student, Russell worked for Lincoln Property Company, where he was first introduced to the many aspects of real estate. After graduation he worked as a Realtor for JB Goodwin Realtors in Austin selling hundreds of homes. In 1999 Russell was recognized as one of the top 25 Realtors in the Austin area by sales volume.
After spending many years in residential sales, Russell transitioned into Mortgage Banking in 2001 with Cypress Mortgage Company. After two years of being the top originator for Cypress Mortgage, Russell began his own company called Texas Mortgage Consultants. Over the next 5 years, his company continued to grow. In June of 2008, he and his staff joined forces with Hometrust Mortgage. Russell worked with Hometrust for the next two years.
Russell has a wife and three children and is very involved with their lives. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his kid’s sports, reading, writing, and photography. He and his family are avid Longhorn fans and make as many games as possible. Russell and his wife are passionate about their travels and travel abroad yearly where they explore the history and cultures of the world.
